Q:
How do I sign up with Chalk Line? A: First, visit our Website, www.chalkline.org, and fill out an Order Form and Credit Card information sheet. They can be found under the “Orders” tab on our site. After we have received that information, all you need to do is e-mail your documents (newsletter, mailing list, etc.) to tiffany@chalkline.org and we will take it from there.
Q:
I need to change my Credit Card information. How can I do that?
A: You can visit our secure server, https://secure.netsolhost.com/chalkline.org/secure/pay.htm, where you can submit updated or new information to me via e-mail. You can also call us at our toll-free number, 1-800-463-6382 and submit your card over the phone.
Q:
Why didn’t I receive an invoice? A: We send our invoices via ed@informationetc.com as Adobe PDF documents. Sometimes, certain e-mail programs will see either our e-mail address or the attachment as SPAM and filter it into a Junk Mail folder. If you can’t find it there, just e-mail us and let us know and we can send you a new one.
Q:
Do I order every month through the website? A: No. After your first order through the website, which sets up your order preferences, you can simply e-mail tiffany@chalkline.org or Upload your prayer letter and mailing list. If your order requires special instructions, please include them in the body of your e-mail or in the comments section of the Upload page.
Q:
How long does it take for Chalk Line to mail my letter? A: Under normal circumstances, we have a 1-2 business day turnaround time. We cannot offer same-day service.
Q:
What is the difference between a One-Time set-up fee and a Design Fee? A:
The one-time set-up fee is only charged on your first order, regardless
of whether we designed your letter or not. This covers the initial labor
of processing your information into our databases and setting up your
preferences. On the other hand, the design fee can be charged each month,
per design. This design fee applies
to the following situations: Chalk Line receives your text and your pictures
and creates a design from scratch or Chalk Line receives your text and
your pictures and arranges them in the template we have on file for you
from past months. This design fee does not apply to the following
situations: Chalk Line receives your letter ready to print or Chalk Line
receives your letter ready to print except for inserting your pictures
(you send your pictures in a separate e-mail, and Chalk Line inserts the
pictures in the marked spaces on your letter).
Q:
I’m using TNT MPD for my mailing list. How do I export my list out of
TNT? A: You can download a PDF of instructions on how to export your mailing on our Downloads page, http://www.chalkline.org/TNTMPD%20download.pdf. This should walk you through the process. Q:
What format does Chalk Line want my newsletter in? A: We prefer that you send us either an MS Publisher document (*.pub) or an Adobe PDF (*.pdf). We also accept MS Word, MS Works, Adobe InDesign, and JPEGs. We cannot accept Mac Pages documents or Filemaker Pro documents.
Q:
What’s the best way for me to send our database? A: We would prefer that you send it in an excel file (*.xls) or as a Comma Delimited Text file (*.csv) file. However, we also accept MS Access files through our Uploads page, and if you can send through Open Office, we accept those files also. If you cannot send one of these files, we would ask that you convert it to a text file, which we can then import into Excel.
Q:
Do you do End-of-Year/Summer Asks? A: Yes. A typical special ask includes a response envelope and a response card, both of which we can print for $0.20 cents each. If you would like to include a stamped response envelope, they are $0.62 cents each. We can print a generic response card, but we would prefer that you submit your own.
Q:
Do you have Campus Crusade response envelopes in stock, and can you print
my name and account number on them for me? A: Yes, we do have CCC response envelopes in stock that we can insert for no charge, but unfortunately, we cannot print your name and account number on them. Our printers cannot print that precisely.
Q:
Do you offer colored/odd-sized envelopes? A: Yes, we offer colored envelopes. However, a colored or odd-sized envelope is typically $0.075 to $0.10 cents extra per letter. The color choices we have available are correspondent to the paper color choices we have on our website. Please add 1 extra day to your turnaround time if ordering with colored envelopes, due to availability.
Q:
Do you offer commemorative stamps? A: Yes, we do offer commemorate stamps – however, what we can order is limited by what the local post office has in stock. Please look at the USPS website before you order, which has all of the stamps available posted at http://www.usps.com/, under “Buy Stamps and Shop.”
Q:
Does Chalk Line print magnets? A: Unfortunately, no. However, many people have printed their magnets through www.magnetstreet.com or www.creativeplus.com and have been pleased with their work. |
